99 is the Cuckoo founders reunited on the same floor with a new concept, opened in October 2026. There are two floors of around 200 each: upstairs is the main room, where most of the tables sit, with open-format hip-hop and RnB; downstairs is house, darker and more dance-focused. Both floors run on Friday and Saturday, and one floor opens on Wednesday and Thursday. Tables start from £600 minimum spend, spent on drinks and covering entry for the whole group, and entry is for over 19s with physical photo ID.

What Cuckoo Club Was

Under the Cuckoo Club name, the venue was a long-running Swallow Street club known for its two floors: a ground floor with house and commercial music, and a darker basement given over to hip-hop and RnB. That split made it a favourite for birthday groups with mixed music tastes. The address has been a nightlife name since 1954, when it opened as Al Burnett's Stork Club, whose guests ran from Harold Macmillan to Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor, before the Cuckoo Club took it on for the best part of two decades.

The split is different at 99 Regent Street: open-format hip-hop and RnB upstairs, in the main room where most of the tables sit, and house downstairs. A group with mixed tastes still gets both sounds in one building, with a staircase between them, on a Friday or Saturday when both floors run.

Planning a Birthday at 99 Regent Street

Entry is for over 19s with physical photo ID, a year older than most London doors, so check ages across the whole group before you book: one 18-year-old guest can hold up the door for everyone, and for an 18th birthday Rumour on Dover Street admits 18 and over. The dress code is elegant and enforced: no sportswear, running trainers, shorts, caps or fancy dress, clean minimal trainers at the door's discretion, and black is the safe choice.

A table from £600 covers entry for the group and is spent on drinks, not charged on top; VIP and larger tables are quoted on request, and minimums rise with the night, group size and position.
